Business Development Manager


  • Generates and develops new financing business to meet specified quotas
  • Maintains and nurtures existing client relationships in your territory
  • Understands and communicates information regarding company services, policies and procedures to new and existing clients
  • Collects, interprets, and analyzes complex financial data and information
  • Perform daily inside sales calls and outside sales visits
  • Research prospects and qualify for business
  • Responds to all inquiries and requests in a timely and professional manner
  • Extensive travel required within your territory
  • Prepares and presents proposals to prospective new clients
  • Maintains thorough knowledge of company financial services
  • Ensures that all required client paperwork is complete, accurate and submitted on time
  • Produce lease and other appropriate documentation, Calc logs and T-Value’s
  • Provides timely and accurate reports as required
  • Attends/participates in company sales meetings


  • Demonstrate an excellent knowledge of a specific equipment industry or many that you have been exposed to
  • Be proactive and a self-starter with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Be committed to high standards of excellence
  • Demonstrate strong organizational, problem resolution and consultative sales skills
  • Work independently managing priorities while coordinating multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Display versatility, flexibility, enthusiasm, good judgment and the ability to make timely and sound decisions
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong computer skills and experience in using CRM systems
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills including the ability to make successful presentations to individuals and/or groups at all levels of an organization
  • Demonstrate the ability to prepare reports and business correspondence


  • Post-Secondary Education
  • Job Level: Mid-Career – candidates will have  a minimum one year financing/leasing experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • A Master of Business Administration (MBA) or BCom is a desirable asset in this role but not a pre-requisite for the job
  • Applicants with an existing book of business/clientele will be given preference


  • This job requires you to be set up and work from a home office environment
  • Dress code for most sales calls is business casual attire. There will be exceptions depending on the specific dress environment of the client you are visiting with or the type of function you are attending
  • Extensive local travel
